Network

All Engineering Data Centers are connected to each other with a high-capacity, high-reliability back-bone network and have Internet connections. Engineering offices are interconnected with the Intranet MPLS private network. Each Data Center has been designed with full redundancy both for the WAN and for all LAN and security infrastructures. Specifically, any network device (eg router, switch, firewall) is duplicated in each component and, to ensure continuity of service in case of hardware malfunctions, it uses network protocols (VRRP, HSRP, Active / Stand -by failover) that ensure redundancy. Network and systems are constantly monitored with particular attention to Internet connectivity, performance and security.

WAN

L’edificio di Pont Saint Martin è sede di POP (Point Of Presence) dei carrier di rete Fastweb, Wind e Telecom Italia.  All’interno dell’anello dei Data Centre Engineering sono presenti inoltre 2 POP (Point-of-Presence) ubicati presso una sala OLO (Other-Licensed-Operators) dell’area metropolitana milanese (MIX) e di quella romana (NAMEX) in cui sono presenti i maggiori carrier nazionali ed internazionali. Ciò significa disporre della possibilità di connessioni sia su rame che su fibra ottica e con diverse tipologie di accesso sia su reti MPLS sia su reti di tipo Clear Channel (punto-punto).

La disponibilità di doppi apparati ADM e di rilegamenti in fibra ottica in doppia via fisica garantisce scalabilità, robustezza ed affidabilità della rete WAN fornita.

In alternativa alle connessioni dedicate Engineering.MO offre VPN (Virtual Private Networks) sfruttando la rete Internet, con un vantaggio economico in termine di risparmio sulla fornitura di linee.

Internet

The Pont Saint Martin building host POP (Point Of Presence) of Fastweb, Wind and Telecom Italia carrier networks. Within the ring of Data Center Engineering there are also 2 POPs (Point-of-Presence) located in an OLO room (Other-Licensed-Operators) of the Milan Metropolitan Area (MIX) and linked with major national and international carriers. This means that it is possible to connect through both copper and optical fiber and with different types of access both on MPLS networks and on Clear Channel networks  (point-to-point).

The availability of dual ADM appareils and dual optical fiber bindings ensures scalability, robustness and reliability of the WAN network provided.

As an alternative to dedicated connections Engineering.MO offers VPN (Virtual Private Networks) by leveraging the Internet, with an economical edge in saving on supplying lines.

Engineering provides a Bandwidth Management service that allows you to allocate and reserve the Internet bandwidth for each specific traffic (traffic shaping) and QoS service.

Cloud Engineering Network 

The Cloud Networking component is based on native Cloud technology. Engineering complements these native features for a perfect integration of the Data Center backbone and of customer VLANs
