Data Center services relate to the management of the technological infrastructure of customers hosted in the Engineering data center, or to customer-owned systems or data centers, where Engineering operates with the same processes and methodologies in use in its Data Center.

Data Center Services

CloudEng offers its customers advanced management services as a strength factor of the cloud offer.

The self-service portal allows a customer, after creating a virtual machine, to enable optional services through the appropriate function. This feature allows to set services on a single VM or a set of VMs. And to view the status of requests and services activated on each VM or service.

Services are classified into two distinct groups:

  • Automatic services: They are advanced services whose activation and management is automatic. They do not require the virtual machine or service to be managed by Engineering personnel.
  • Managed Services: They are a turnkey solution in which Engineering personnel manages the service or the virtual machine on behalf of the customer. These services include a manual activation workflow and include the provision of the Service Desk to provide dedicated communication channels with the customer.

 

The self service portal provides an indication of the cost of the services but you must contact the support or sales to get the exact estimate of the services, especially for the managed ones.

Automatic Services

•    Custom catalogs of templates
The service prepare custom templates for virtual machines including them in a customer dedicated catalog. This option requires a a validation by engineers and is subject to validation. Additional cost will be evaluated depending on the complexity of templates.

•    DR (Disaster Recovery)
Optional Disaster Recovery service for automatic replication of VM images.  Asynchronous replication is performed automatically and is available with the following parameterizable SLAs:

•    Antivirus
 Activation of the service includes a monthly fee for each VM.

•    Vulnerability assessment
Vulnerability Assessment activities provide the customer with detailed knowledge of their IT systems security status, through various stages of analysis, by simulating different intrusion scenarios.

The penetration test is optionally activated. The cost of the service is calculated based on the number of test cycles required on a particular subnet. A periodic report is sent to the client's email address and any notifications are also reported on the Self Service portal.
•    Web Vulnerability assessment
Web Vulnerability Assessment activities provide the customer with detailed knowledge of a specific web service security status, to verify the security level of enterprise applications and to define a detailed countermeasures plan to reduce the vulnerabilities found.

The penetration test is optionally activated. The cost of the service is calculated based on the number of test cycles required on a particular subnet. A periodic report is sent to the client's email address and any notifications are also reported on the Self Service portal.

•    IPS
The cost of service is calculated based on the number of IP addresses that need to be protected on a particular subnet. The periodic report is sent to the client's email address and any notifications are also reported on the Self Service portal.

•    Cloud Network Plus
The service provides dedicated configuration for VPN (Virtual Private Network), Firewall and Load Balancer (multi-tenancy logic) and is derived from a shared infrastructure where both the isolation and security of each individual (tenant) subscriber is guaranteed.  Services can be adopted individually (eg. VPN only) or grouped into bundles (eg.Firewall and Load Balancer).

Cost calculation is determined monthly as a forfait on the base of reserved reources.

•    Public IP addresses
Engineering provides the number of IP Publics required at the unit cost specified in the Services List.

•    Internet bandwidth
The Internet bandwidth of the cloud shared infrastructure is 10Mbits. Optional Internet bandwidth can be required in variable cuts ranging from 1 Mbit to 50 Mbits.

•    QoS
The bandwidth required by network services can be guaranteed and reserved by activating this service. Cost calculation is determined monthly as a forfait on the base of reserved reources.

 

Managed Services

•    Full Server management
Full server management according to different contractual SLAs (Bronze, Silver and Gold) includes Service Desk, Log Management and Patching Service, and optionally Advanced Monitoring and Advanced Backup.

•    Service Desk
Help desk at various levels of hourly coverage. Cost calculation is determined by packet on the base of estimated number of tickets.

•    Log Management    
Log Management collection service, to satisfy security regulation.

•    Advanced Monitoring
It offers managed monitoring services through centralized Enterprise Monitoring Center.

•    Advanced Networking
To handle specific requests that require network specialists and specific design, such as VPN S2S activation and dedicated connections with MPLS or dedicated lines.

•    Advanced Backup
Configurable backup service with hot backup security option and custom backup plans.

•    Security management
Advanced security management services (performed by Engineering Security Operation Center)

•    Gestione Database    
Provisioning and management of databases.

Dedicated Hosting offer

Data Center services relate to the management of the technological infrastructure dedicated to a  customer hosted in the Engineering Data Center, or to customer-owned systems or Data Centers, where Engineering operates with the same processes and methodologies in use in its Data Centers.

The offer includes:

  • Housing of customer owned systems;
  • Customer or Engineering Property Systems Hosting, however dedicated to the customer;
  • Hosting virtual or virtual Virtual Center (Virtual Data Center) systems, dedicated or shared, and managed according to criteria similar to the Cloud model;
  • Flexible Services, on-demand management of specific resources or services, such as physical or virtual storage, and local backup services at the Data Center or remotely;
  • Server, Storage and backup management;
  • Middleware and database management;
  • SAP Base Services;
  • Networking;
  • Security Services;
  • Disaster Recovery and / or Business Continuity Services, both within and outside the Data Center Engineering network.
